Itinerario Patabamba Cultural Experience Tour
8:00 am | Pickup from Cusco and transfer to Patabamba
from Cusco to Patabamba , an Andean community located in the heights of the Sacred Valley , just 1 hour 30 minutes away along a scenic route.
During the tour, our guide will share information about rural life, customs, and the Andean worldview.
10:00 am | Arrival and welcome to the community
Local families will welcome you with a traditional welcome ceremony. Through this experience, you’ll connect with the Andean world in an authentic and respectful way.
10:30 am | Experiential activity with community members
Depending on the season and the agricultural calendar, you will participate in one of these activities:
- Demonstration of traditional weaving with natural dyes
- Agricultural activity (sowing, harvesting or plowing with oxen)
- Short walk through the Patabamba viewpoints and explanation of its natural surroundings
- Medicinal plants or Andean cuisine workshop
1:00 pm | Typical Andean lunch: Pachamanca
You’ll enjoy a delicious Pachamanca , prepared in an earth oven with local ingredients such as native potatoes, broad beans, corn, chicken, or lamb, accompanied by chili and Andean herbs.
Includes natural infusion or traditional soft drink.
2:30 pm | Free time + farewell
After lunch, you can relax, chat with the locals, take photos, or take a light walk to the area’s viewpoints.
3:30 pm | Return to Cusco
We return to Cusco with an estimated arrival time of 5:00 – 5:30 pm.
- Wear warm, layered clothing: the weather can change quickly between sunny and Andean cold.
- Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes for walking on trails or farms.
- Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat, even on cloudy days.
- Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated.
- Camera or cell phone with a charged battery: the landscapes and the experience are unique.
- Avoid bringing unnecessary snacks: Pachamanca lunch is abundant.
- Have some cash in soles if you want to buy textiles or leave a tip.
