We enjoy a hot Andean breakfast at a local restaurant or campsite before beginning the trek.
8:00 am | Start of the trek to Waqra Pukara
We begin our hike through spectacular Andean landscapes: mountains, grasslands, canyons, and rock formations. In the distance, we can see Waqra Pukara , an Inca structure perched on a cliff shaped like bull horns («waqra» = horn, «pukara» = fortress).
Along the way, we’ll also see cave paintings, terraces, and ancient Inca trails. The ascent is gradual and suitable for travelers with basic hiking experience.
1:00 – 11:30 am | Arrival at Waqra Pukara – Guided tour
Upon arrival at the archaeological site, your guide will explain the historical, astronomical, and spiritual significance of the site. We’ll explore ceremonial terraces, viewing points, niches, and platforms built on the edge of the abyss.
Free time to take photos and absorb the energy of the landscape.
